Life with irritable bowel syndrome (commonly abbreviated as IBS) can be quite difficult. To make things worth it's not entirely understood what causes it. That makes it harder to find the appropriate treatment for irritable bowel syndrome. That being said, there are things that can be done, so there is no reason why you should keep suffering if you don't have to.

One of the main causes of IBS is believed to be stress. But no matter what skill level you're at, yoga is a great stress reliever.

Apart from stress, another common trigger for IBS is food. Which foods cause flare ups will vary from person to person. Therefore, keeping a food diary will help you identify which foods are causing you the most problems. Write down what you eat, when you eat it, any symptoms you have and what time they happen. It can take a while for some foods to produce a problem, so keeping track of everything will help you recognize which foods are causing you the most trouble.

If you have IBS, then you should know that the treatment for irritable bowel syndrome can vary from person to person. However, a lot can be done to improve the symptoms, and it will be well worth it once you start feeling better and can live your life again.
