8 natural acne cures and treatments

Millions of people suffer from varying degrees of acne- adults and kids alike. Personally, I know the embarrassment and frustration that comes with not having flawless skin. Let's face it, curing acne for good and winning the war on acne scars is not an easy task. Here are some tips that may expedite the cure of acne scars naturally and help the healing process of acne scars.

1. Chocolate and fried food is not responsible for acne; allergies to these products may cause acne. But, you should always avoid eating too much oily and spicy food as they are unhealthy for your body as well as for acne. Eliminate sugar, dairy products, deep-fried food, meat, nut butters from your diet menu. Add fresh fruits and vegetables more and more to your diet.

2. Honey and cinnamon for acne is a very popular treatment. When the medicinal properties of these two are combined together, then it works wonders on the skin eruptions. Take one tablespoon of finely grounded cinnamon powder and mix it up with 3 tablespoon of honey. Apply the thick paste on the acne and keep it for half an hour. Then wash with plain water.

3. Decide what the best treatment for your skin type is. Not all treatments are right for everyone. Don't try too many types of treatments as this may cause more damage to your skin.

4. Taking 10,000 units of Vitamin A in the form of Beta Carotene daily can also benefit blemished skin. Vitamin E is great for promoting healthy skin. Take 400 units of the dry tablet form of Vitamin E. There should be a clear distinction on the package if it is the dry form or not. Oil based capsules may sometimes worsen and irritate skin issues.

5. Drink plenty of water at least 6 - 8 glasses of water everyday. Water is essential for body detoxification as it eliminates toxins out of the body and also prevents acne flare - ups.

6. Oatmeal: Cook the oatmeal the way you do for eating. Let it cool down properly and then apply it on your entire face. After it dries up completely, wash off. The oils on the skin surface get absorbed by the oatmeal and thus ensures faster healing of the acne.

7. I can't stress enough the importance of hydrating your body. In that I mean that you need to drink plenty of water. Drink at least six eight ounce glasses of water per day. Nothing gets rid of toxins more quickly than improving your everyday consumption of water.

8. The first step in your routine is cleansing or washing the face. There are many different commercial face washes out there, but you may wish to make your own at home, which can be more effective and MUCH cheaper! You will need: 1 cup of white or brown sugar, 2 cups of olive oil, 1 tsp. of lemon juice, and water (add water until it becomes a paste-like consistency- not too much!) Mix these all together and store any extra in a sealed container in either a cool spot or the fridge if you wish. Gently apply to the skin an rub in circular motions around the entire affected area. This will exfoliate away any dead skin. The sugar granules work perfect for this purpose and can be used alone if you like by simply wetting your fingers and dipping them into the sugar before applying to the face.
