Twenty four hour gyms - two to choose from

Fitness RSS Feed

Let's face it, most of us have busy schedules. It seems as though we are either coming or going, and our leisure time is more limited than we would like. Now, that wouldn't be anything more than a small annoyance, except that it has a negative impact on your fitness level. Sure, you would like to join a fitness club of some kind, but how can you possibly fit it into your ever-changing schedule? The answer can be found in 24 hour gyms.

There is no question that there is a major problem with obesity. Many different theories have been put forth as to its cause, but the stress of modern life has to be a contributing factor. But you need a way to get healthy. Maybe you have even tried a few workout DVDs to use at home, but you can only do the same exercise routine before you are filled with the urge to destroy it in the most brutal way.

The benefits of a gym include having a wide variety of classes, personal trainers and many different types of exercise equipment. A fitness club also buys and takes care of all of their machines so there is no need for you to perform any of the maintenance as you would on your own equipment. Also, how much exercise equipment can you make room for in your home? Even if you have a larger home, you won't be able to fit in enough equipment to get the same variety as you would at a gym. It's no wonder people like joining a gym.

But what about 24 hour gyms? There are two main types, those that have staff on hand at all times, and those that do not. Gyms with an around-the-clock staff have the added benefit of having someone to help you should you need it. The trade off with such a club is that it will cost more to join. After all, they have to pay the staff 24 hours a day.

24 hour gyms that don't have staff there at all times are much more common, especially in smaller cities and towns. They will have normal hours of operation when there will be people there. If you go during these times, the door will be open and you can walk in as you normally do. After hours, however, you will usually need to use your membership card--which contains a magnetic strip--to get in. But if it's not during the gym's regular business hours, then you could be all alone.

Being alone in a gym late at night makes some people nervous. The good news is that 24 hour gyms are aware of this and have security measures in place. The magnetic strip on each card identifies who's coming into the gym. Security cameras are usually installed as well. Furthermore, many clubs will offer some sort of alarm that you can wear on your person. If anything happens, you can sound the alarm to summon help. As you can see, 24 hour gyms are safe and convenient.
