Washington DC is the most beautiful and well known cities of the United States. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it stands as the capital of the biggest super power of the world. It provides lodging to thousands of tourists each year who come here to witness a large of monuments and landmark it contains. Washington DC is the world’s leading state in the field of tourism. Not only the local people are inspired by its beauty but also many foreign delegates come here and cannot resist the temptation of praising it.
White house is one of the finest works of architecture throughout the world. It was built to counter the grand European palaces. It has beautiful halls and splendid lawn. Tourists are allowed to visit the place and enjoy its beauty. It was built in the era George Washington, who made special efforts to make it one of the largest and beautiful buildings.
Library of Congress is another important monument and is treasured for its great architectural design. It mesmerizes any visitor with its huge lawns and enormous halls. The main reading room is beautifully built with a sky high ceiling standing on eight gigantic columns. The great hall has marble columns that have been placed with great expertise. The windows have some finest of the stain glass patterns with beautiful mosaics. There are high arches that give it a splendid and grand look. The walls are covered with murals that are another form of great art. Besides these architectural patterns, bronze models standing in the building create another scene.
A memorial was built in the memorandum of Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1997. Franklin Roosevelt was one of the greatest leaders of the United States who worked day and night for the uplift of his country. Now when is no more to see this world his nation gratifies him and has made him immortal by building a memorial in his name. The four granite spaces that represent each of the FDR’s presidential terms are extremely popular among the people. These granite spaces create an awful scene at night when moonlight falls on it. The light makes these bronze statues look great.
The Washington monument is a symbol of democracy that stands as a huge tower in the memorandum of George Washington. George Washington is one of the best presidents of his country and is loved and respected by his people for his great work. The interior of the building houses many stones that have been donated by many states and cities to show support to the ideas of George Washington. Although these stones were affected by the moisture and climate and were losing their charm the government has now stared a renovation plan so that the grace is restored.
The World War II Memorial is no match in its architecture and beauty. It has two pavilions that are separated by an oval pool. This depicts the fact that the war was fought between the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. Many scenes of the war have been made in the surrounding.
