How easy is getting back with your ex
Breaking up is never a fun thing to go through. At least one of the people in the relationship will end up with a broken heart and hurt feelings. Because of this getting back with your ex is one of the more difficult things you can do. But you can do it.
It is vital that you have realistic expectations before you move forward. This goes for both of you. You need to be realistic about what you expect from the other person, and also about what you are willing to do or not do to make things work.
You are both human, and that means you are both going to make mistakes. Working under the assumption that you both made mistakes in the past, and will make them in the future is one of the keys to getting back with your ex. At the same time, you both have to learn from your mistakes and do whatever you can to prevent them from happening again.
While you will, hopefully, learn from your mistakes, you also need to ready to forgive. Forgive your partner and yourself. Are you starting to see a theme here? You can let each other know what they did wrong, but only to the extent that you are each willing to listen and grow based on each other's input.
You are now ready to move forward. This will require honesty, hard work, and the ability to take things one step at a time. It never fails, one of the people in a relationship will be ready to patch things up before the other one is ready. That's okay. Just be sure to approach your ex gently and don't come on too strong right away.
Your ex needs time to do some thinking. So do you. You may feel like getting back with your ex is the best thing to do right now, and it may be all you can think about, but slow down. If you really want to get your ex back, then accept that it may take longer than you'd like. But all good things are worth waiting for.
The lines of communication will need to be opened. Again, keep in mind that your ex may not be ready to talk to you quite yet. If that's the case, give it more time. It's impossible to say how long that amount of time should be. You know your ex pretty well, so you will have to make your best guess as to when the best time will be to try again.
Once you start talking, don't be too pushy. When you push to much the other person will only pull back. All you want is a chance to tell them how sorry you are; how much you still care. Those are nice thoughts, but if you overdo it, you will just come across as being emotionally unstable.
As you can see, getting back with your ex isn't always the easiest thing to do. However, if you still love them, it is definitely worth the time and effort it takes to be together again.
