Comment on extra ordinary men of our time

Remember during the missions of Apollo. And others we knew every astronaut by name, we made them heroes. We celebrated their bravery. And they were brave too. If you ever get to Alamogordo Space Museum, Lyndon B Johnson Space Center in Houston or Kennedy Space Center and Museum in FL and look at the little tuna cans these guys went up in space in you then know just how brave they were. If you get a chance go to the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson AZ and look at the old brave technology you will simply want to relive a little of American technology, guts, glory and challenge.

As you drive through Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Tennessee you see signs on the freeway of cities proclaiming the names of famous astronauts; and their home towns. We as Americans are so quick to condemn our heroes of today. We chastise them; sacrifice them, their names and their spirit. Why? We today do not celebrate our astronauts, famous generals, pilots and those who go beyond. Yet everyone knows the names of John Glen, General Patton, Neil Armstrong, Chuck Yeager, Alan Shepard, Buzz Aldren, and Gus Grissom. We know these names, like we know Vince Lombardi, Mark Spits, Mary Lu Retton, Carl Lewis, Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretsky, and Bruce Jenner. We must remember the new warriors of fear and challenger, fighting to against odds of norm to get to these new achievements.

We have amongst our presence so many great people, we have failed to adequately recognize. We need this for inspiration of the next generation. That we can overcome all obstacles. What makes extraordinary men? It is those who refuse to give up or to take the easy road. Those who have the will to make it happen against all odds. We do not know their names; why? Are these new brave wars not politically correct anymore in our haste to make everyone equal, so they can feel good about themselves? Do we do this so underachievers can put forth minimal effort and not look bad next to the standout of extra-ordinary men? Well, what do you think; or do you dare think such politically incorrect thoughts anymore? Think about it.
