Cool waterslides-you can make your own

Recreation RSS Feed

If you have ever been to a water park then you know there are some very cool waterslides out there. Whether they are tall with vertical drops or have many twists and turns there are waterslides for every type of person out there. If you prefer to have your own waterslide in your own backyard then read on.

One of the cool waterslides you can buy for yourself is an inflatable waterslide that only takes about 30 minutes for the entire set up. The Bonzai Cyclone Twist comes with the waterslide, a numbered hose assembly, a blower motor with four stakes to hold it down, anchor bags, and six stakes for the waterslide.

Before you set the waterslide up make sure that the area is cleared of sharp objects like rocks and sticks to prevent puncturing the waterslide. There is no sense in spending the money if you are going to put the slide in a place that will ruin it right out of the box.

Spread the waterslide out in the area you have prepared for it. Find the numbered Velcro patch and ties along the top and down the sides of the slide. Using the numbers, attach the hose to the slide on the Velcro patch with the Velcro ties.

Connect the blower motor to the intake valve located on the left side of the climbing wall. Secure the fitting with a Velcro tie and stake the blower to the ground with the yellow stakes to keep it in place.

There are five loops on the bottom of the slide. Stake them with the five orange stakes so they are secure. Be sure to pound these orange stakes flush with the ground to eliminate trips and falls.

Once this is done you can plug the blower into an outdoor outlet with a ground and turn it on. Inflation of the slide should only take approximately three minutes. While the slide is inflating, fill the anchor bags with water and secure them to the slide. Place two at the rear of the slide and one right before the blower on the left side of the climbing wall.

Use your hose to wet the waterslide then turn the water off and connect your hose to the waterslide's hose assembly. Turn the water back on and adjust the flow of water to make sure the slide stays wet at all times.

Your children will be the envy of all the neighborhood and you will not ever have to wonder where your children are all summer, they will be right in your own backyard with all of their friends playing on the waterslide you set up for them.

For safety's sake, do not let your children play on the slide without adult supervision. If they choose to climb on the climbing wall they could fall. You want them to be able to use the waterslide and have a summer full of fun not spend their summer with a cast on their arm from taking a fall from the cool waterslides height.
