Since lofts are converted out of the old buildings insulation is required which costs more than the usual. The current Building regulations set down standards for all new loft conversions and also minimum airflow standards to avoid problems like sweating. This may give you some problem as the lofts are built in such places of your house that are generally located away from the airy places.
