Safe disposal of your network hardware

Internet tips RSS Feed

With the advent of technology, people keep on searching for modern hardware that permits them to conduct their business in a faster and more efficient manner. Thanks to the cost of real estate, offices come at a premium nowadays and there is hardly any space that one can spare. This creates storage problems and people just cannot afford to waste such premium space by turning it into a dumping ground for unnecessary hardware and other such stuff. Most of them take the easy route out and dump their old hardware into the ground. It is so simple, just dig a hole in any unused spot and dump your old hardware and then cover up the same with soil.
You might be taking the easy route out but did you know how much damage to the environment you are causing? The items used to manufacture hardware, and these include motherboards and other items like cables etc. are non-biodegradable. They contain metals and other materials and chemicals that can damage the soil irreparably. You have just done your duty and are finished with it. What about the future? You have just damaged the subsoil and have contributed to make the world a dangerous place to live. If only you had been a bit careful.
Suppose you had just purchased a home of your own and were surprised to find that flowers and other plants are not growing in your lawn and the land is barren. Chances are that someone like you might have dumped network hardware under the soil of your lawn years ago and the chemicals released from the same have rendered the land useless. Is this what you want the future generation to face all over the world? One should remember that lots of toxic chemicals are used in the boards and other peripherals that constitute your network hardware and that they hardly contain nay bio-degradable stuff. They should always be disposed off in a proper manner so that they do not damage the environment.
There are many organizations that specialize in picking up your used and unused Avaya Phones and its network hardware and you should contact them. They will provide you with a special container in which you can pack together the un-required stuff and send it to them. They will pay the required shipping and handling charges. If you have no idea about such organizations just search the net and you will find many organizations that are willing to pick up your old hardware. Most of them, especially the big ones, will also have a local presence and that will save you time and money. Remember, it is your duty as a citizen, to ensure that the environment is protected. This can only be done if you discharge of your duties as a responsible citizen properly. Save the citizens of the future and also the future of earth by disposing off your old network hardware in a proper fashion. Remember network hardware contains dangerous chemicals
