Equipments used for the cleaning of chimneys

Home improvement RSS Feed

In our homes we have chimneys so that the proper air gets maintained and the excess heat from inside the house goes out. These chimneys are usually made above the area of our fire place so that the excess heat easily goes out and does not spread inside the house. If the heat gets accumulated then it would cause suffocation. There is a large number of dust particles associated with the outgoing air or smoke therefore the chimneys get dirty. Therefore these must be cleaned otherwise the accumulated debris will later make your family members ill.
There are a number of methods and the ways by which these chimneys can be cleaned. Among them the most important are the brushes. These brushes are made of different materials and different sizes and are designed according to the needs. There are certain smoke chamber cleaning brushes that are enable to reach into the corners, irregular spaces and the cracks. These brushes have a flexible nature therefore easily remove all the accumulated debris. There are certain brushes that have thick fiber and are designed for heavier build-up, others are made of light fibers and are designed for lighter dusting of soot.
All these types of brushes are heavily flexible to bend around the corners. As the brushes cannot easily reach the height of chimneys therefore there are certain rods and these brushes are made to attach with them. These rods extend up to the height of the chimney and therefore allow the brush to clean the chimneys. There are certain chimney caps whose main objective is to provide the protection against the rain, debris, fire and rain. Actually chimney is just a hole mostly made above the area of fireplace therefore the rain can easily enter through this hole and in the same way the excreta of animals the infectious germs can easily enter the house through this chimney. These caps can be easily constructed by the mason and are also manufactured by the different manufacturing companies.
Different types of vipers can be used for the cleaning of the chimneys. These vipers are available in the market in a number of styles, sizes and the types. Among them the large sized vipers are used to clean large chimneys, the medium sized vipers help to clean medium sized chimneys and obviously the mini vipers clean the small sized chimneys. While cleaning a chimney some of the precautions must be kept in mind. These precautions include the covering of face with the help of the mask, covering of the fire place and the furniture of the room. The proper ventilation during cleaning with the help of ventilating fans. Use of a basket in which all the debris be deposited. In our homes we must clean our chimneys at least twice a month but the industrial chimneys must be cleaned more frequently as the accumulation of chemicals of industry within it makes it more harmful and poisonous. In short, it is an important issue and must be considered seriously.
