Hobbies RSS Feed

As well as in the past years, even for the 2010 edition, the Bologna Mineral Show will host very interesting thematic shows, particularly suggestive for the discussed arguments, the things that are showed and the attention used to present them to the public. In particular, the central show of the Bologna Mineral Show 2010 will be dedicated to the minerals of the Carraras marble, one of the most known italian minerals, charaterized by the perfection of the christal and the incredible transparency and purity.

Between the most rare and best minerals in the world, we would like to remember wurtzite, colusite and sulvanite; but also other more common mineralogical species such as quartz sfalerite, fluorite, chalk and sulphur which present themselves in christalizations of high aesthetical value. Carrara, which boasts more than 100 mineral species, is also a typical location of minerals called zaccagnaite e zincalstilbite. You can find some of these species in very evident christalizations of high aesthetical impact, but for others you need a lens of enlargement or even a microscope in order to really appreciate every single aspect; about this, the evolution of the collection of microchristals (micromount), had given a notable contribute to the study of minerals in this location, bringing to the attention of the experts many species otherwise they wouldnҒt have been noticed.

In the show will be presented the most important species of Carrara, with types coming from museum and private collections, in a path that wants to be didactic and aesthetical in the same time. An other scientific pregious appointment is the exposition organized by the Geographical Association La Venta on the Cueva de los Cristales, the cave with the biggest selenites christals in the world discovered in the mexican region of the Chihuahua and that maybe will be in a short time submerged again to keep the inestimable content.

The rewiew of the best of CarraraҒs mineralogy and the multimedial space dedicated to the amazing cave-box constitute the two most important stages for the visitors of the 41st Bologna Mineral Show.

Moreover, from this year, an important novelty: the admission ticket for Bijoux Expo will allow the free access to the Bologna Mineral Show event, which will take place inside of the Futurshow Station in a separate and dedicated area, but in the same time.
In Italy the most attended, important and popular exhibition market of mineralogy and paleontology, will be dedicated not only to the sale of minerals, precious stones (raw and processed) and authentic fossils, but it will also offer large exhibition spaces dedicated to the sale of beautiful shells and insect collectors.

Two stunning exhibitions market at the price of one, then, with the possibility of switch from one show to another and choose ones stone between the many exposed in the Bologna Mineral Show, to certify it by the Istituto Gemologico Italiano, and entrust it to a specialist goldsmith identified in the Bijoux Expo for a made to measure jewel, unique in the world.

A new frontier of luxury that combines the uniqueness of the choice to prices that dispel all doubt, for an event that, on the one hand, will thrill adults and children in a scientific journey to discover the wonders of the subsoil and the history of our planet and, on the other hand, the decoration art.
