There are so many home remedies for you to try for treating everything from acne to dandruff and from skin tags to yeast infections. Home remedies usually cost less than treatment from your doctor and may work even better. If they are used the way they were meant to be used they can be effective in treating any number of ailments.

Herbs have been used for centuries by the Chinese and more recently by Europeans and even more recently herbal remedies are becoming more prevalent in the US. Garlic is used to treat many things such as high cholesterol and to lower blood pressure. Before antibiotics came along garlic was used effectively to treat infections.

There are other forms of home remedies for you to try out too. Light therapy is used in the winter to decrease depression because sunlight is limited in the winter. The body needs sunlight to feel good and in the winter when there can be days on end with no sunlight then we need to replace it with light therapy.

Music can be used as a therapy for insomnia, depression, and stress. Any kind of music will do so long as it is soothing to you. Remember the saying, "Music soothes the savage beast"? Well, it really is true. So start listening to more of you favorite music to feel better and maybe even sleep better at night.

Believe it or not, color can be another alternative remedy you can use to change your mood and get rid of negative emotions. Blue and green are soothing to the body and can make you feel calm in a given situation. Hospital rooms are usually painted soft soothing colors because being in the hospital can be a stressful time for patients.

There are countless books and websites online where you can find information on natural ways you can treat many different problems yourself. One thing to keep in mind though is if you are already taking medications prescribed by your doctor you have to be careful about natural remedies. Some herbal remedies can have drug interactions with what you are taking. If you wish to start using a home remedy, talk to your doctor first so you do not harm yourself and make things worse.

If you make things worse for yourself you will have defeated the purpose of treating your problem yourself and will have to make a trip to the doctor or even the emergency room if your reaction is bad enough. So be sure to talk to your doctor beforehand. He or she can help you make an informed decision about any herbal remedy you want to try.

So, if your face breaks out with terrible acne right before a big night out or you can't sleep at night or you or your spouse snores loudly at night there are safe, effective home remedies for you to use that can help you with all these problems and many, many more, as well.
