Free financial advice- internet constant source of free advice

Finance RSS Feed

This is the internet, there is free advice on just about anything anybody could ever want, including free financial advice. No one likes to deal with finances but it is a fact of life and no one can get away from it either. At least not for long. You cannot just ignore it, it won't go away and if you ignore it for too long the it will come back and bite you in the behind.

Free financial advice can either help or harm your situation. The truth is there is not one single fix that will work for everyone. There is a strategy that will work for everyone but the circumstances differ from one situation to another. When someone says they are offering free advice be careful what you wish for. It may just be the wrong information for you. You are already in a mess you do not need someone making things worse.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to just learn how to be your own financial planner to get yourself out of debt. Then when you need to start learning to invest some of the money you have freed up, then go find someone to work with while you learn investment strategies on your own. There is no sense waiting to invest until you learn, have someone help you invest while you learn. You will be that much more ahead in the long run.

Now, for your debt reduction strategy, make yourself an outline before you do anything. Include in this debt reduction plan any and all goals you have for your immediate future and then your long term future. This will help keep you focused while you are working hard at getting out of debt.

If you are like me and are firmly implanted in mid-life and aren't sure your finances are headed in the right direction then you need to stop what you are currently doing with them and take stock. Making the changes that need to be made now can put you back on the right track and save your retirement. You do want to retire someday, don't you? How many people still have to work to make ends meet these days when with probably only a little extra planning they could be enjoying retirement and not have to work into their seventies and even eighties.

I don't know of anyone who wants to have to work that long but you see it all the time especially in the retail world. Look carefully the next time you check out at the store. I bet you will see at least one retirement age check out person. Now think back to when you got your first job and how old you were. Estimate their age and do the math. That is a lot of years spent working, they deserve to retire and not have to worry about money. There, I told you the internet was full of free financial advice.
