Order direct casket - tips just for you

Ezine RSS Feed

The last thing most of us think about, until we're forced to, is the cost of a funeral. Funerals can range from around a $1,000 for a simple funeral without viewings and flowers, all the way up to tens of thousands of dollars. If the deceased had enough insurance money to cover this expense it's not a problem, but if they didn't have any insurance, or not enough, it can cause significant additional stress on the family.

For most funerals one of the biggest expenses is the casket. Many people who are grieving just buy whatever the funeral home recommends, including the casket, but they could save a lot of money and still get a beautiful casket if they were to buy a direct casket from a wholesale or casket shop.

Federal law makes it illegal for funeral homes to refuse to use a casket that you've bought somewhere else. They must use whatever casket you provide, no matter where you bought it. Unfortunately for many funeral homes, selling caskets can amount to a big chunk of their yearly profits so some unscrupulous funeral directors will lie to the grieving family and insist that they must get their casket from them or they must buy a certain package.

That is against the law, don't allow them to browbeat you at this difficult time. Buying the casket direct from the funeral home could add thousands of dollars to the overall cost of the funeral and if you have to pay for it out of your own pocket that can hurt.

No one wants to look like they are cheap, especially when planning a funeral, but think of it this way: the money you save on the same quality casket you'd get down the road at the funeral home could be put to buying more flowers, getting a nicer headstone, providing traveling money for out of town relatives, or just go back to the survivors. All in all, it just makes sense to get the best casket at the best price.

Whether you want to visit a casket shop locally or go online, you can find the same quality, beautiful caskets you would at your local funeral home, but at significant savings. When you go online, just make sure that you are only dealing with a reputable website, otherwise you may not get your casket on time or it could be the wrong one. Just as it is in every day life, when you search online for a casket if the deal seems to good to be true, it probably is, so keep looking.

Going to a wholesale outlet, online or off, to get your direct casket, can help you insure that your loved one has the beautiful funeral they may have wanted, and that you want them to have. The best part is that while the funeral doesn't look cheap or like you didn't care, only you will know that you saved a lot of money by getting the casket from a reputable dealer, either online or off.
