A lot can do in winter landscaping

Business RSS Feed

Winter is a very promising season which is often neglected when it comes to landscaping. With its beautiful scenery and snowfall there is a lot that you can do with landscaping in winter. Some of the enthusiastic people already begin with their ideas much before it is truly cold. However others keep sitting indoors believing that winter has nothing to do with landscaping. Also winter landscaping is useful for people who want to sell their house in near future because beautiful landscape heightens the buyers’ interest and increases your real estate value. Landscaping alone can add to ten to fifteen percent of your property’s value. As you know that the potential buyers are on the hunt to find a good property for them throughout the year, it is not a good idea to present them a dull and boring landscape.
Snowfall is the winter’s bounty, which can be used in various ways to create scenery. You can decorate your home with the help of snow man’s and snow angels both of them look great standing in your lawn or patio as the welcome insignia. All the family can easily have fun in the garden making a snow man. You will have to make snow balls out of the snow that has fallen in your ground and pile it slow and slow over each other till a mound of snow finally appears. Place a round and small proportionate head on the top of the mound. You can use black balls or berries as the eyes and nose and use carrot or any other red material as the mouth. You can use a birthday cap to cover the head to make your snow man look sportier. In this way with this small tip you will not only have plenty of fun but also improve the landscape.
Hardscape and stone work can also do miraculously when it comes to winter scenery. Stones look very beautiful if arranged in a good pattern. Stones can be used very easily for landscaping and thus are highly valuable when it comes to creating a winter scenery. Also we can use stone gazebos and arbors to add to the surrounding. However it is not only the Hardscape or snow that can be used in winter landscaping, many types of ornamental grasses can be used easily to improve the landscape. These ornamental grasses do not wither away in winter and maintain a beautiful green carpet even when it’s the peak of winter. Besides these ornamental grasses, there are many shrubs and plants that form beautiful foliage in the winter. Planting these shrubs will add to the beauty of the lawn. However one thing that is noticeable is that all the work on hardscaping and ornamental grasses should be done well before time because you will certainly not like to freeze yourself in the outside when the weather is extremely cold.

Another thing that you should consider is that by the end of winter is always good to sow the bulbs so that they bud out in the early spring and you can enjoy the spring treat.
