Inspection of pipes and drains

Business RSS Feed

The regular inspection of drains and pipes is the key to ensure efficient and safe working of your sewerage system. This is very essential to cut down the costs of repairs and inconvenience of the bad toilets and clogging of drains. There are various methods of inspecting your plumbing equipment, nowadays the manual inspection has been replaced by the video assisted systems that have made the inspections much easier and efficient.
The most common method that is in use is closed circuit Television cameras. The detectors are that are attached to the small cameras that are placed in the pipes and drains. They take the pictures of the inside of these water ways and display these pictures on the monitor. These pictures show any bad spots on the pipes, damage caused by wearing out and burst out pipe. Thus the site of the problem can be readily identified and repaired. Not only these cameras show the sites that are already damaged but also indicate the areas that would have potential future damage. So these points can also be identified and repaired in advance and save you from incoming problems. Also you can visualize the dirt and debris in these pipes in any area that would get clogged thus cleaning can be done in time.
Also another noteworthy feature of these camera assisted systems is that they not only explore the drains and pipes of large bores but can also take pictures from the pipes that are as small as a straw. We enter these cameras from one site and they travel through the pipes taking the photographs for very large distances. In this manner in one go we can view upto 300 meters of the sewer drains. However the cameras can travel no further distance. So at the end of this distance a new entry point is created and the camera is inserted to start a new travel. In this manner even a very long distance can be inspected with ease. Larger cameras are being used for the inspection of the larger systems. They other advantage that these cameras are conferring is their pan and tilt feature by which they can take up high resolution close up pictures of very minor details. Many explosion proof cameras have also been installed in many sewerage lines that continue to work efficiently even if there is a minor explosion.
Other important devices that help in timely warning against the nasty unexpected breakdown are the ultrasound equipment. These ultrasound equipments are designed to produce the sound waves that are beyond our frequency range of our ears. Thus the sound produce cannot be heard by the common man. These waves hit against a hard surface and are reflected back to the radio. Any change in the frequency no matter how small can be easily detected by the machine and thus the point of damage is recognized. Getting the system regularly checked in this way is of much help in this manner.
We are very thankful to these modern systems for making our life comfortable and safeguarding us from unexpected breakdowns.
