Check iphone 4 against defects

Business RSS Feed

There have been a lot of queries about the latest apple gadget iPhone 4 that has been in the market for quite some time now. There have been a lot of issues that are being spotted and you must have a check on them before you buy yours. Dead pixel check, this is the most common issue in iPhone 4. This is the first potential manufacturing defect you might want to check against is probably the presence of dead pixels on your new iPhone 4's screen.

Dead pixels are ones that either fail to display certain colors or any color at all, resulting in a black spot or one that shows a discoloration on your screen. Save yourself a potential eyesore on your phone by checking for dead pixels the moment you receive it. Turn on your iPhone 4 and if possible use the browser to access dead pixel test websites. If using the browser is not an option, try to manipulate the phone to access different apps and screens on the iPhone's interface. Browse through pages that display white, black, red, blue, green and yellow colors. If you see a certain pixel that fails to display a certain color (for example: it remains white while the pixels around it are displaying yellow), or remains black all the time, you've found a dead pixel.

Phones with dead pixels should be exchanged for a new set, as dead pixels are permanent and cannot be fixed individually. This is the most common problem and next comes in the yellow lines or splotches across the screen. Some early users who purchased the iPhone 4 at its first US launch have complained of yellowish spots and lines appearing on the Smartphone’s screen. Most users who experienced this problem commonly saw the lines or spots at either end or corners of their iPhone 4 screens. When you receive your new iPhone 4, access the phone's Settings page, which has a largely whitish-grey background. This will make the potential yellow lines or spots easier to detect Also look at your phone's screen from different angles to check if other screen defects can be seen. You should also go for a Performance check. Do a simple performance check to see if your new iPhone 4 is in good working order. Try running a few of the default apps already pre-installed into the phone, such as the browser or calendar. Apps should load quickly with no little or no lag. Also test out the camera by snapping a picture or testing its functions such as the flash to see if it works properly. You should also go with the cosmetics check. This might be a no-brainer but some users get so excited over their new tech toy that they fail to check if there are any cosmetic imperfections on their new iPhones. Take a look at your phone's screen, back cover and sides for any signs of scratches or dings. If there is no problem with it then go for it.
