Best double edged razor

Beauty RSS Feed

Basically, the best double edged razor for anyone is the one they choose and feel comfortable using every single day. There are plenty to choose from you just have to find the one that feels right in your hands. Some may be weighted differently than others or have different finishes but it all is just in what you like. Personal preference, that's all.

Shaving is a very personal thing and even though all men have to shave each one may have slight variations in their personal technique they use to get the shave they want. The best double edged razor will give you an excellent shave. That is what every man wants. A smooth, clean shave without cuts and nicks to mar the surface of their skin.

Good overall skin care is important, too. It is not just shaving that will keep a man's face looking good, you need to apply after shave and maybe even some moisturizer to keep your skin soft and minimize itching and flaking. Even a man's skin can become dry if it is not taken care of. There are many moisturizers for men available just pick one with a good scent. Moisturizing is not just for women.

There are some things to remember when beginning to use a double edged razor for the first time. It may take some practice to perfect your technique even if you have been shaving for many years.

A double edged razor is a T-shaped razor with a single edge of the blade on each side. If you have a tough beard then you will not be able to make only one pass to remove all of the hair. So, the best technique to learn is to make short strokes with light pressure holding the razor at the right angle for your face. Make sure you use the whole blade to shave, this minimizes nicks and cuts, too.

A gentle pressure is needed to cut through the hairs on your face. Do not scrape with the razor or you will end up with horrible razor burn. That can hurt worse than a sunburn and will turn your face red. So just use enough pressure to let the razor do the work.

Using short strokes means you can have a lot more control and can keep the angle of the razor correct. Be extra careful over your chin and jaw. This is mainly where nicks and cuts occur because of the roundness of these areas. Sure and steady short strokes are the best way to get the closest shave possible.

Keeping the blade free of hair and shaving cream will help too. So just rinse with warm water after every few strokes. When you are done clean the razor thoroughly to keep the razor in top working order. If you eventually get some build up then just disassemble the razor and clean the separate parts thoroughly using an old tooth brush to scrub away any residue on the razor.

If the tooth brush is not enough then soak the razor in some hydrogen peroxide to loosen any residue not cleaned off by the brush, then brush the razor clean again. Soaking the razor in hydrogen peroxide once a week is a good idea anyway for your best double edged razor.
