Metal carports for vehicle protection and maintenance

Auto care RSS Feed

Finally, it was my first house all to myself. Granted, it was tiny. From my bed, I could get the milk from the fridge and close the blinds on the front window. Quaint, right? This miniscule dwelling definitely did not include a garage of any kind, but there were cute little fruit trees lining the parking space in the back. Unfortunately, the sap from trees can ruin the finish of a car in less than week, so finding some kind of car protection was high on my list. The first option was to wash my car every couple of days, but I quickly lost interest in that as the cold weather came on. Car covers were another choice, and I looked at both the long-term storage covers and the covers made for daily use. The plastic cover protects the paint, but I tried out a few, and it was always a hassle for me to get it on and off, making it something I wasn't too keen on doing at least once every day.
Then I started looking at metal carports, and I was sold. Do you have a shop set up in your garage, leaving your car out to fend for itself in the harsh sun and precipitation? A carport is just the thing to make sure your car doesn't get hurt out there (although even that can't protect it from the loneliness that may set in). Or maybe you have a great little fishing boat that doesn't quite fit in your garage, or a four-wheeler too covered with mud to be let anywhere near your house. A carport is just what you need. They are perfect for storing anything you need stored, be it an automobile, an ATV, outdoor dining set, or nearly anything that needs to be kept outdoors. It's also a good idea to use a carport as a cover for a home generator to ensure proper functioning.
Metal carports in all sizes, so I had no problem finding one that would fit right over my tiny parking spot to go with my tiny house. I looked at quite a few manufacturers, so I'll share some of my findings with you. Both companies discussed here- Rhino and Versatube- are reputable, and I'm sure I'd have been just as pleased with a purchase from one as from the other. I decided to buy a Rhino, but it was just a matter of personal preference, as both companies provide high quality, durable shelters.
Rhino metal carports, a workshop or storage building up to 52' wide without bothering with poles or posts in the construction. Kits are available in a wide range of colors, lengths, widths and heights, ensuring that you will always be able to purchase exactly what you want and need. They are properly designed to protect anything you would need protected, from campers to fifth wheels to RVs to boats, cars or travel trailers.
A carport is a simple and easy solution to protecting your car if you don't have a garage, or if your garage has been converted into a shop or studio, or if you have something else you want protected from the elements.
