Is it good for man not to marry?

Articles RSS Feed

Are we doing what the word of God say to do. Please allow me to give you some insight about the purpose of marriage and the single person. Let's start first at 1Corinthians 7:1 it says Now for a matters you wrote about: it is good for a man not to marry. But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. Now if you look further in the chapter at verse26 it says Because of the present crisis, I think that it is good for you to remain as you are. Are you married? Do not seek a divorce. Are you unmarried? Do not look for a wife. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.

What I mean, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none; those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy some something, as if it were not theirs to keep; those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away. Continuing reading and at verse 35 it says I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.

We must all understand that Jesus wants to transform us to angles. Look at Matthew 22:29 it says: Jesus replied, You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage, they will be like the angels in heaven. But about the resurrection of the dead-have you not read what God said to you, I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead but of the living. If you look at Matthew 24:37 it says As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marring and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Love Always,
Your Sister in Christ
